Just a quick note to mention that both of my birth experiences are featured on Birth Without Fear this week. They are adaptions of my posts on the births of HGB and MJB, and I am thrilled to be able to share them with a wider audience. I am also very excited that PAIL Bloggers is mentioned at the beginning of each post, hopefully bringing a little more awareness to the ALI community. Check this blog out… I give it the SRB seal of RECOMMENDED.
Sharing these stories has helped me to process, heal, and celebrate these defining days in my life. I believe that just like our infertility stories, every birth story matters. I believe that if you would like to share you story, you should have a space in which to do so, where your choices and feelings are respected, without judgment. I believe that every woman deserves access to support and accurate information before and after their birthing time. I believe that sharing these things with each other is a cornerstone in the “it takes a village” mentality. I believe this helped me move through these experiences and become a better mother, a better woman because of it.
The Birth Without Fear blog was significant to me both in processing my first birth experience and helping me to prepare for my second. I am so glad that their Facebook page is public so that I can read all of the comments on my stories there this week. It feels so incredibly wonderful and validating to read the comments of perfect strangers, to be connected with each other in this way, for a brief moment in time. These experiences, they matter to so many women. I am thankful for this opportunity to share again.
